Herbage Preservation (Prevention of Fires) Act

The Act is directed at the prevention and control of bush and other fires in Botswana. The Act establishes the Principal Herbage Preservation Committee and the Subordinate Herbage Preservation Committees to execute the functions of the act. No person shall, without the permission in writing of a Herbage Preservation Committee, set fire to any vegetation on the land of which he is not the owner or in a lawful occupation.
