This is a parliamentary Act that makes provision for the licensing and control of the businesses of brokers, money-changers and goldsmiths and silversmiths. It classifies brokers into two – official and ordinary. It emphasizes that a person desirous of becoming an official broker shall find two sureties approved by the licensing authority, or such person as it may appoint, who will enter into a bond to the extent of two thousand shillings each for his good behavior.
