Nigerian Electricity Smart Metering Regulation

This regulation sets out the minimum physical, functional, interface and data requirements for a smart metering system. This covers all classes and types of smart meters, communication systems, and other components of an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) deployment to measure electrical energy consumption, support billing (Multi-Tariff and Multi-Source), pre-paid and credit payment functionality, remote load control (connection/disconnection) and to report events/alarms to other control and monitoring systems e.g. outage management systems (OMS). The system shall provide information and data to support smart grid applications and have the capability of extending its functionality to load control, demand response and demand-side management (DSM) services.
