This Mining Charter is designed to achieve mutually symbiotic sustainable growth and broad based and meaningful transformation of the mining and minerals industry. The Mining Charter seeks to achieve the recognition of the internationally accepted right of the State to exercise sovereignty over all the mineral resources within the Republic and enhancement of the social and economic welfare of mine communities and major Labour Sending Areas in order to achieve social cohesion, amongst others.
