Universities Act, 2021

This Act aims to repeal and replace the existing Universities Act of 2005, including any amendments made to it. The purpose of the Act is to ensure the continuation of the University of Sierra Leone, Njala University, the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, and the establishment of new institutions such as Milton Margai Technical University, Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone, and Kono University of Science and Technology. Additionally, the Act includes provisions for the appointment of Chancellors of Universities by the President and the establishment of other public and private universities. It also addresses other related matters.
