 Policy Vault is offering a unique opportunity for a Public Policy and Government Engagements Fellow (French Speaking) to join our team. This six-month fellowship is designed for individuals with strong expertise in public policy, government relations, and stakeholder engagement, with fluency in French and English. The fellowship provides an opportunity to work on high-impact projects engaging governments, regulators, and international stakeholders on critical policy issues, with the potential to convert into a full-time role based on exceptional performance.

Job Summary
The Public Policy and Government Engagements (French Speaking) Fellow will be responsible for engaging with governments, regulators, and stakeholders on key policy issues across Africa. This role involves conducting policy analysis, developing evidence-based recommendations, building strategic partnerships, monitoring legislative developments, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen governance and public policy outcomes. Fluency in French and English is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on public policy and governance issues across Africa, with particular attention to Francophone countries.
  • Analyze policy documents, legislative texts, and regulatory frameworks, providing clear summaries and actionable insights.
  • Develop evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, government agencies, and development partners.
  • Engage with governments, regulators, and regional institutions in Francophone Africa to support effective policy dialogue and collaboration.
  • Contribute to Policy Vault’s policy repository by sourcing and analyzing relevant documents, including those from Francophone contexts.
  • Prepare high-quality policy briefs, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences in both French and English.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in government, academia, civil society, and the private sector across Africa.
  • Monitor trends in governance and public policy across Africa, highlighting key developments in Francophone countries.

 

Eligibility

This fellowship is ideal for:

  • Graduates with no more than three years of experience in public policy, political science, international relations, or related fields.
  • Individuals fluent in French (writing, reading and speaking)
  • Current students pursuing advanced degree programs (e.g., master’s or doctoral studies) with a focus on governance, law, or policy.
  • Researchers or practitioners on sabbatical looking to apply their expertise in public policy and government engagement, particularly in Francophone contexts.

Fellowship Details

  • Duration: Six months
  • Work Location: Remote, across Francophone African Countries , preferably Cameroon
  • Opportunity for Conversion: Exceptional performance during the fellowship may lead to a full-time role at Policy Vault
