This is an Act to give effect to the right to administrative action that is lawful, reasonable and procedurally fair and to the right to written reasons for administrative action as contemplated in section 33 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 and to provide for related matters.

This policy emphasizes the need for various youth development efforts and interventions that holistically respond to all aspects or spheres of young people’s lives. Its goal is to consolidate youth initiatives that enhance the capabilities of young people to transform the economy and society by addressing their needs, promoting positive outcomes, opportunities, choices and relationships and providing the support necessary to develop all young people, particularly those outside the social, political and economic mainstream.

This document details how to achieve four strategic goals of the department that include the optimization of the use of people, processes and technology to meet service delivery and good governance requirement, provision of people-centred justice services that are accessible, reliable and efficient, promotion of constitutionalism, human rights and commitment to international legal relations and also provide cost-effective and integrated quality legal services to proactively protect the interest of the state.

This is an Act to provide a legislative framework for the transformation and restructuring of the legal profession in line with constitutional imperatives so as to facilitate and enhance an independent legal profession that broadly reflects the diversity and demographics of the Republic, to provide for the establishment, powers and functions of a single South African Legal Practice Council and Provincial Councils in order to regulate the affairs of legal practitioners and to set norms and standards.

This is an Act to provide for the regulation of property practitioners, to provide for the continuation of the Estate Agency Affairs Board as the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority, to provide for the appointment of the members of the Board and matters incidental thereto, to provide for the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer and other staff members of the Authority, to provide for transformation of the property practitioners sector, to provide for the establishment of the transformation fund and establishment of the research centre on transformation, amongst others.

This is an Act to amend the Child Justice Act, 2008, so as to amend a definition to regulate the minimum age of criminal capacity, to further regulate the provisions relating to the decision to prosecute a child who is 12 years or older but under the age of 14 years, to further regulate the proof of criminal capacity, to further regulate the assessment report by the probation officer and to further regulate the factors to be considered by a prosecutor when diverting a matter before a preliminary inquiry.

This is an Act to provide for the issuing of protection orders against harassment, to effect consequential amendments to the Firearms Control Act 2000 and to provide for matters connected therewith.

An Act to repeal provisions establishing an incarceration framework introduced by the Correctional Services Amendment Act, 2008, to amend the Correctional Services Act, 1998, so as to amend a definition and insert new definitions, to provide for a new medical parole system, to clarify certain provisions relating to parole and to provide for the management and detention of remand detainees.

A Bill to amend the Long-term Insurance Act, 1998 and the Short-term Insurance Act, 1998, so as to define certain terms; to state the objects of insurance regulation; to extend the powers of the Registrar; to extend the provisions relating to the licensing of insurers; to provide for explicit governance, risk management and internal control requirements of insurers; to provide for the supervision of insurance groups; to clarify certain market conduct matters; to make consequential amendments to other Acts, and to provide for matters connected therewith.

This is an Act to amend the Criminal Procedure Act 1997, so as to provide for the taking of specified bodily samples from certain categories of persons for the purposes of forensic DNA analysis and to provide in particular for the protection of the rights of women and children in the taking of DNA samples.

This is an Act to amend the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007, so as to enable the minister of Justice and Constitutional Development to designate certain courts for purposes of dealing with sexual offences and to provide for related matters.

This is an Act to amends the Attorneys Act, 1979 to further regulate the powers of the board of control of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund. It amends the Child Justice Act, 2008 to regulate the evaluation of the criminal capacity of a child and to provide for the delegation of certain powers and assignment of certain duties by the cabinet member responsible for social development in respect of the accreditation of diversion programmes and diversion service providers.

This Act amends the State Attorney Act, 1957, so as to provide for the establishment of offices of State Attorney and to provide for the appointment of a solicitor-general and state attorneys. It provides for the powers of the minister relating to the functions of the offices of State Attorney and the powers and functions of the Solicitor-General.

A Bill to amend the Divorce Act, 1979, to further regulate the division of assets and maintenance of parties in divorce proceedings in accordance with a judgment of the constitutional court; and the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 1998, so as to deal with aspects pertaining to the term of office of the national director of public prosecutions and the deputy national directors of public prosecutions in accordance with a judgment of the constitutional court and to provide for matters connected therewith.

An Act to ensure access to justice and the realization of the right of a person to have legal representation as envisaged in the Constitution and to render or make legal aid and legal advice available. It provides for the independence and impartiality of Legal Aid South Africa.

An Act to amend the Attorneys Act, 1979. It addresses the disparities in relation to attorneys and candidate attorneys in the territories comprising the former Republics of Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Venda and Ciskei.

This Act amends the Maintenance Act, 1998 and further regulates the lodging of complaints relating to maintenance and the jurisdiction of maintenance courts; It also regulates the investigation of maintenance complaints and the securing of witnesses for purposes of a maintenance enquiry.

This Act amends the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007, so as to ensure that children of certain ages are not held criminally liable for engaging in consensual sexual acts with each other and to give presiding officers discretion in order to decide in individual cases whether the particulars of children should be included in the National Register for Sex Offenders or not.

A bill to amend the Prescription Act, 1969, so as to extend the list of sexual offences in respect of which prescription does not commence to run under certain circumstances regarding a debt that is based on the alleged commission of any of those sexual offences; to also amend the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977, so as to extend the list of sexual offences in respect of which a prosecution may be instituted after a period of 20 years has lapsed since the date of the alleged commission of the sexual offence; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

The WPRPD applies to duty-bearers, oversight institutions, government institutions, the judiciary, the private sector, the media, law and policy makers, public servants, frontline staff, as well as representative organisations of persons with disabilities (inclusive of parents’ organisations) and non-governmental organisations. The main beneficiaries of the successful implementation of the WPRPD will be persons with disabilities and their families as rights-holders. Among others, the WPRPD provides a course to mainstream the rights of persons with disabilities through the development of targeted interventions that remove barriers and apply the principles of universal design.
