The Policy provides clarity and guidance on matters partaining to the work and welfare of teachers

This policy is to ensure the inclusion of marginalised groups in education across the country to protect the constitutional right of all children in Sierra Leone to equal access to quality pre-school, basic and secondary school education. Specifically, the focus of this policy is on girls, especially pregnant girls and parent learners; children with disabilities; children in the rural remote areas; and children from poor/low-income backgrounds.

This policy has the objective to improve the health of school-age children in Sierra Leone. The Vision for the design of the school health policy is to “have a nation with educated, empowered and healthy citizens capable of realising their fullest potential”.

This policy was designed in accordance with the guiding principles of universal access to quality and equitable education, radical inclusion, comprehensive safety of all learners, and quality teaching and learning. The vision of the policy is that “all Sierra Leonean children, irrespective of their gender, socio-economic, and cultural status, or other limitations, should have access and complete up to thirteen years of quality basic education age (age 5-18), including children living in remote areas shall have access to a quality education and an accessible school place”.

The Policy aims to promote the development of children, local farmers, and the community to ensure that school feeding is recognized and treated as a sustainable program that receives support from various actors.

These guidelines are for teachers and school owners and provide guidance on how to prevent, report and respond to school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV).

This Strategy document was developed with cross-sectoral government support in order to improve access to education for the long-run development of young Sierra Leoneans.

This is an Act to reform the education system, including provision for pre-primary education, technical and vocational training, adult and non-formal education and the role of universities; and to provide for other connected issues.

This guide was commissioned to create a shared understanding on the differences between Policy documents, to standardize the Policy development process and ensure coherence and consistency across the Policy process to strengthen education service delivery in Sierra leone.

The National Policy (IECD)  was designed to ensure that children between the ages of 0-8 years have access to equitable and quality ECD services.

This curriculum framework is aimed at enhancing the quality of human capital in the country through up-to-date curriculum development in senior secondary schools across the country.

This policy is designed to provide for the utmost safety of students and teachers, while helping improve teaching and learning within the school environment. This includes protection from physical, mental and sexual abuse and the elimination of natural and human-made hazards. The emphasis is on human rights, universal access, radical inclusion, stakeholder shared responsibility, and conflict sensitivity and peace building.

This Act aims to repeal and replace the existing Universities Act of 2005, including any amendments made to it. The purpose of the Act is to ensure the continuation of the University of Sierra Leone, Njala University, the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, and the establishment of new institutions such as Milton Margai Technical University, Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone, and Kono University of Science and Technology. Additionally, the Act includes provisions for the appointment of Chancellors of Universities by the President and the establishment of other public and private universities. It also addresses other related matters.

This Act was enacted to establish the Sierra Leone Council for Postgraduate Colleges of Health Specialties. The primary aim of the Council is to supervise and coordinate the training of postgraduate health specialists. The Act provides for the establishment of three postgraduate colleges.

This is an Act to repeal the Nigerian Education Bank Act, Cap. N104, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, and enact the Students Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act, 2023, to provide easy access to higher education for indigent Nigerians through interest-free loans from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund established in this Act, with a view to providing education for all Nigerians; and for related matters.
