This document highlights the policy, strategy, and plans aimed at preventing and controlling non communicable diseases in Botswana, including health promotion, leadership, and financing.

This strategic plan was design to control the spread of HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and to mitigate its impact on all vulnerable groups, individuals, households, and communities in Lesotho. The focus areas of the policy include education, behavioural change, counselling and support for affected individuals and households.

The objective of this policy is to ensure access to information and services that will help individuals to protect themselves from HIV and AIDS, and enable them to access treatment, care, support and impact mitigation services for HIV and AIDS.

The policy highlight the revised strategy by the government to control the spread of HIV/AIDS in Lesotho. The strategy adopted the evidence-based planning to interventions, focus on human rights, multi-sectoral response, gender sensitivity, cultural sensitivity, and community level participation.

This purpose of this policy was to align all HIV and AIDS programme to the national strategic plan to avoid duplication and overlaps, inappropriate strategies and resource allocations. The strategy adopted included national and local level coordination, institutional synergies, and ownership by all stakeholders.

The main goal of this policy is to ensure Lesotho is a healthy nation with a minimal number of people living with NCDs. The policy highlights key areas of interventions include health education, health service delivery, health financing, capacity development in the health sector, community engagement, and health research.

These guidelines were developed to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV. The focus of the guideline is on four thematic areas: prevention of HIV infections among women of child-bearing age; prevention of unintended pregnancies among HIV infected women; prevention of HIV transmission from infected mothers to their children; provision of continuous care, treatment and support for infected mothers, their partners and children.

The main goal of the policy is to ensure Lesotho is free from AIDS with zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS deaths, and zero discrimination. The policy highlights the government strategy to reduce new HIV infections, increase life expectancy, protect sexual and reproductive health rights, inclusive HIV response, and equitable access to interventions.

The overall objective of this operational plan is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness in the management of resources in delivering of health services. The annual operational plan document is sectioned into key principles of Annual Operational Plan (AOP): work plan which includes goals and objectives, service delivery operation and targets; governance and financing of the Annual Operational Plan (AOP).
