This is an Act of Parliament stating the regulations guiding the prices of essential commodities to secure their availability at reasonable prices for citizens.

This represents the medium term national development policy framework of the GSGDA II. It builds on the GSGDA I and contains a set of policy objectives to guide implementation of government goals at sector and district levels. An Act that establishes the Standards Authority Board, its functions, how it acquires funding and other matters related to standardization of goods.

The policy outlines strategies to achieve its main goal of improving the socioeconomic status of the country. The sectors that the policy aims to impact are the agricultural and industrial sectors for the medium term and long term, respectively. Lastly, the policy outlines how it will be financed.

This represents Ghana’s 7-year plan for national reconstruction and development. The 1963-1970 plan highlights the strategies for future development of Ghana and Ghanaians, socially and economically, through science and technology, modernization and expansion of agriculture and the industry. It also plans massive expansion of transport, water, electricity, and communications social services.

The Costing Framework serves to guide effective implementation of the strategies contained in the 2010-2013 GSGDA. It covers efficient resource allocation and expenditure outlays. It is based on the 7 thematic areas of the GSGDA.

This document is a development plan to catapult Ghana to a middle-income status nation by 2015. The plan asserts that, when properly implemented, it would lead to the following: improved skills and creativity of the population, an even distribution of jobs in the rural and urban areas, and a modernized agriculture sector.

These are a set of policies that target accelerated economic growth in the nation through building up human capital; removing barriers to facilitate trade in the West African region; removing investment and investor barriers such as value chain constraints; processing natural resources such as oil and gas, and modernizing agriculture.

The GSGDA is developed subject to a directive of the constitution of the Republic of Ghana, charging government to establish a just and free society through sound policies. The strategy is premised on the need for a more stable macroeconomy, stimulated by prudent exploitation of resources, investments in human capital, infrastructure development, science, research and technological innovation.

The GPRS serves as the comprehensive government document highlighting policies, strategies, programmes, projects, interventions, and plans towards growth and poverty reduction in Ghana for 3 years. It seeks to facilitate stimulated growth of the economy, wealth creation for Ghanaians, and development of an inclusive society through sound economic management for accelerated growth, sustainable livelihoods, human development and the provision of basic services, support of the vulnerable and excluded, good governance and increased capacity of the public sector, and active participation of the private sector as the main driver of growth.

The Programme of Economic and Social Development Policies is in fulfilment of Article 36 (5) of the Constitution of Ghana that emphasises that within two years after assuming office, the President shall present to Parliament a coordinated programme of economic and social development policies, including agricultural and industrial programmes at all levels and in all the regions of Ghana. The policies, themed “Agenda for Change” prioritises four key goals: Creating opportunities for all Ghanaians; Safeguarding the natural environment and ensuring a resilient built environment; Maintaining a stable, united and safe country; and Building a prosperous nation.

The act amends the Millennium Development Authority Act of 2006 to make further provisions for the implementation of the terms of the compact.
