National Nutrition Action Plan

The purpose of this action plan is to provide a framework for the intervention activities of the government and stakeholders. The government has support in realizing the millennium development goals through the implementation of high impact nutrition interventions. The interventions include breastfeeding, deworming, food fortification and management of malnutrition. The first chapter of the plan analyzes the nutrition situation in Kenya; chapter two presents the strategic issues and their expected outcomes; chapter three provides the monitoring and evaluation approach; chapter four describes the strategic objectives, indicators and implementation framework for the strategic issues. The plan of action identifies 11 objectives and provides each with an expected outcome.
