The seeks to address gaps in the framework and implementation of the original proclamation. A revised version to improve the management of the country’s foreign currency reserve.

The Investment Incentives and Investment Areas Reserved for Domestic Investors Regulations were issued pursuant to the relevant articles of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

A revision of previous investment proclamations. It strives to expand investment, especially in the manufacturing sector, increase general inflow into the economy, create the necessary framework for an enabling investment environment, and facilitate a technology driven economy.

The government of Ethiopia recognizes the importance of investments, both local and foreign on the development of the country’s economy. The export trade duty incentive scheme is therefore proclaimed in accordance with Article 55 (1) and (11) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
