The Act specifies the minimum sentences for rape; modification of certain rules of evidence applicable to sexual offences; duties of prosecutors in criminal proceedings relating to sexual offences; rights of a complainant of rape in bail proceedings; the granting of bail to persons charged with rape; publication of certain information and evidence relating to certain offences; the admissibility of evidence in rape cases; and for all other related matters.
