The Industrial Property Code modernizes Mozambique’s intellectual property (IP) regime in line with international treaties such as TRIPS and ARIPO. It regulates the registration, protection, and enforcement of industrial property rights including patents, trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications, utility models, and trade names. The Code also sets rules for licensing, technology transfer, and combating counterfeiting. Its aim is to promote innovation, attract investment, and strengthen the business environment while safeguarding creators’ and investors’ rights.
