Its objectives are to facilitate early diagnosis and management of cases; to prevent disability and ensure rehabilitation of leprosy patients; to strengthen reporting and follow up of leprosy patients; to strengthen leprosy expertise in health care facilities to which leprosy cases can be referred, and to improve access to current effective treatment.
