The micro-financing business shall see to the collection of deposits and issuance of credit to rural and urban farmers and people engaged in other similar activities as well as micro and small scale rural and urban entrepreneurs, the maximum amount of which may be determined by the National Bank. The proclamation also specifies other specific roles a micro-financing institution can take on. It contains other pertinent pointers ranging from licensing to operational and financial requirements and limitations.
