National Infection Prevention and Control Strategic Framework

The purpose of this document is to outline the strategic framework to prevent, reduce and control the development of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and anti-microbial resistance (AMR), ultimately improving patient safety and health outcomes. The objectives of the strategic framework are to establish and strengthen IPC programmes at the national, provincial, district and health facility level including emergency medical services (EMS) and prescribe the development and implementation of national infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines.
