This is a parliamentary Act that makes provision for the regulation of dealings in scrap metal, to provide for the establishment of a Scrap Metal Council and for connected purposes. It establishes the scrap metal council. The functions of the council shall be to receive public complaints and disputes from the public and within the scrap metal industry, to receive, vet and process all applications for the grant and renewal of licenses, and to submit an annual status report on the scrap metal industry in Kenya to the cabinet secretary.
