The Revised National Digital Identity Policy for SIM Card Registration was developed under the authority of the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, in line with sections of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003. The policy aims to mitigate identity fraud and online crimes while curbing compliance abuse by mobile network operators and subscribers. It is aligned with the Minister’s responsibilities to formulate, determine, and monitor communications policies that support Nigeria’s economic and social development.
