This Act established the Medicines Regulatory Authority and the Medicines Regulatory Board. The Board shall be responsible for the direction of the affairs and operations of the Authority. This Act regulates the production, importation, exportation, distribution, sale and dispensation of drugs within the country.

The plan aims to give safe, reliable and free immunisation services available and accessible to all eligible children within the country.

This policy was based on the framework of the revised National Policy on Education (RNPE) government white paper NO. 2 of 1994. This policy focuses on the problems and needs of early childhood care and education programmes and seeks to create an environment in which services of high quality would develop.

The Act deals with the stealing of stock or produce, possession of stolen stock or produce, presumptions, trespass with intent to steal, night delivery of stock forbidden, tampering with stock or produce, search, seizure and arrest, a document of identification to be furnished on disposal of stock, and acquisition of stock or produce otherwise than at public sale, among others.

The plan seeks to channel the education sector towards the fulfilment of goals identified in the Revised National Policy on Education (RNPE), the National Development Plan, Vision 2016 and as well as the Millennium Development Goals.

The plan identified priority areas and aims to improve the health sector in the country by 2020.

The regulations contain directions that must be complied with by persons travelling in parts of Botswana that have been declared to be sleeping sickness areas.

The regulations provide for the controller of imports, restriction on the importation of certain goods, application for an import permit, the person entitled to apply for permits, issue of the import permit, duration and renewal of import permit, Import permit not transferable among others.

These regulations apply to restriction on the importation of eggs and poultry meat, application for import permit, import permit to be presented at the place of entry, the validity of import permit, return of import permit to Government poultry office, fees not payable in respect of import permit, and the power to suspend regulations.

These regulations apply to restrictions on the importation of bread loaves and pie pastries, application for import permit, issue of the import permit, period of validity of the permit, refusal to grant the permit, and appeal against refusal to grant the permit.

Vision 2036 defines the vision and the aspiration of the people of Botswana. It aims to transform Botswana into a high-income country by 2036.

This plan results in several strategic areas for implementation. The strategic area includes efficiency of water allocation, water supply and demand management, integration of ecological water requirement, and institutional capacity building in IWRM among others.

The plan will run for 7 years. NDP places emphasis on creating a conducive environment for the private sector so that it plays a major role in driving economic development. More emphasis will be placed on the maintenance of productive infrastructure, providing infrastructure needs for the private sector as an engine for economic growth, and on leveraging additional support for the service export, compared to merchandise export given the associated high transport costs.

To tackle some of the development challenges, NDP focus on six broad-based national priorities of developing diversified sources of economic growth, human capital
development; social development; sustainable use of natural resources; consolidation of good governance and strengthening of national security; and implementation of an effective monitoring and evaluation system.

Botswana ecotourism refers to the country’s cultural, as well as natural heritage, and that great importance is placed on the active involvement (as opposed to mere participation) of host communities and other Batswana in all aspects of the industry’s management and development. The goal of the National Ecotourism Strategy is to create an environment in which all elements of tourism development planning and management facilitate, promote and reward adherence to the key ‘principles’ of ecotourism by all of
those involved in the tourism industry.

The policy was made to meet the increasingly complex challenges facing Botswana in the development of water resources and the sector. The goal and objective of the policy are to provide a national framework that will facilitate access to water of suitable quality and standards for the citizenry and provide the foundations for sustainable development of water resources in support of economic growth, diversification and poverty eradication

The order prohibits the movement of all stock in Botswana, except under a permit issued for each removal by a person authorized by the Director to issue such a permit.

This vision provides for achievable goal by the year 2016

This Act provides for the establishment of the Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority, its mandate, and the framework regulation of the energy sector.

This Act amended the Botswana Power Corporation Act. The sections amended are 2, 18 and 28 of the Act.
