water use licence applications and appeals as contemplated in the sections of the national water act of 1998. A water use licence application, after submission to the responsible authority, shall be considered and finalized within 144 days from the date of acceptance of the technical report on water use licence.

It sees registration as a means to ensure availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. These Regulations bans the sale of avocados produced in, or imported into South Africa and placed on the domestic market, that do not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. It also spells out imported fresh fruits that may be exempted from the provisions of the regulations. The regulations specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of avocados in South Africa.

The registration will aid in liaising on legislation, training, and technology transfer. The statutory measure applies to milk, and will be administered by the milk producers’ organization.

It is stated that an application for coastal waters discharge permit shall be made to the minister, fully signed by relevant persons, accompanied by proof of payment of application fee, and to be accompanied by all supporting documents. It is also specified, the necessary information for assessment of applications.
