The Act provides for measures by which agricultural pests may be prevented and combated. The act places restrictions on the importation of plants, pathogens, insects, exotic animals, growth mediums, honey, beeswax or used apiary equipment. The powers of the executive officer include; ordering the destruction of goods, stopping the offloading of goods, and granting or issuing orders and permits.
