This policy chiefly covers Ethiopia’s natural resource base and the environment. It recognizes the depleted state of the country’s renewable natural resources that include land, water, forests, trees, and other forms of biodiversity. “The overall goal of this policy is to improve and enhance the health and quality of life of all Ethiopians; to promote sustainable social and economic development through the sound management and use of natural, human-made and cultural resources and the environment”.
