This document supports the prime function of the Agricultural Bursary Scheme to contribute towards human resource development in the agricultural sector, in line with a strategic objective to mobilize learners at the pre-tertiary level. It aims to increase the number of agricultural scientists in designated groups and contribute towards making the agricultural sector more competitive and representative of South Africa’s demographics by providing learning opportunities to those previously marginalized. It outlines eight agricultural programmes and their objectives.
