The abbreviated resettlement action plan was designed to achieve the following objectives: to guide compensation against displacement in line with laws, regulations and guidelines for resettlement/land acquisition policy framework of the government of Kenya and the world bank; to identify and quantify different categories of project –affected – people [PAPS] who would require some form of assistance, compensation, rehabilitation or relocation; and to provide guidelines to stakeholders participating in the mitigation of adverse social impacts of the project.
