The objective of this policy is to set the guidelines with regard to the provision of production loan/working capital to smallholder operators along the value chains (from inputs, production and value-adding to retailing) through accredited Retail Lending Entities (RLEs). It is developed to achieve the Micro Agricultural Financial Institutions of South Africa (MAFISA) objective to provide financial services that are more accessible, relevant, and responsive to the target market’s needs.
