National Energy Policy

The goal of this policy is to reduce the over-dependence on oil by diversification of the country’s energy sources, increased research and development and human resources in the energy sector. Other policy objectives include ensuring a reliable affordable and environmentally friendly supply of energy in Nigeria; increasing private sector participation in the energy sector; and ensuring national self-reliance and technological development in the energy sector.
