Barytes is used in oil drilling by oil exploration companies. This policy was developed by the government to ensure orderly and economic exploration, processing, usage and export of barytes in Nigeria. The policy is divided into four key sections namely: policies on the endowment of barytes resources in Nigeria; training, research and technology on the development of barytes; policies to ensure financial support for the development of barytes; relevant laws and regulation for barytes exploration; and environmental policies related to barytes development.
