It is expressly stated that “no person shall export fresh fruits from the Republic of South Africa unless quantities have been approved by the executive officer for that purpose”. It details application for approval of export, inspection guidelines and procedure, assessment of competence of testing laboratories involved in inspection, necessary fees, approvals and rejections, as well as an appeal process. Fresh fruits are defined to mean deciduous fruits, citrus fruits, subtropical fruits and other unspecified fruits.
