These regulations and guidelines are developed in pursuant to the powers conferred by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and the electoral act 2010 (as amended), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). They supersede all other regulations and guidelines on the conduct of elections issued by INEC. The regulations apply to the executive and legislative arms of government, Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area councils; and Councilors of FCT area council’s legislature. It outlines accreditation and voting procedure at elections, management of the margin of lead principle.
