The regulation establishes the sugar corporation as a public enterprise, to be governed and subjected to the relevant articles and sections of the public enterprise’s proclamation of 1992. The enterprise is to be supervised by a body designated by the federal government. The purposes of establishing the corporation include; the production and processing of sugarcane and other sugar yielding crops into sugar and its by-products, the sale of these products both locally and on the international market, as well as ensuring all-round development of the sugar industry.
