The Co-operative Societies Act (Amended) 2004

Part three of this Act concerns with the registration of co-operative societies. It states that on societies that has the following as its objectives shall be registered; the promotion of the welfare and economic interests of its members, and has incorporated in its by-laws the following co-operative principles – voluntary and open membership, democratic member control, economic participation by members, education, training and information and concern for the community in general.
