The national health research agenda seeks to coordinate researchers in the health sector. It acknowledges already existing research efforts in the country and the uncoordinated way in which they have been conducted. It also perceives the need to ensure government policies, strategies, plans and efforts are research-driven. It aims to ensure relevant and strategic areas are prioritised and the whole research efforts in the health sector are purposefully planned and coordinated.
