The government of Ethiopia’s RSDP has been in existence since 1997 and has gone through 4 successive phases. It highlights the government’s resolve to address lingering challenges in the road sector ranging from road sizes to quality, network, condition, and coverage. This Phase of the RSDP recognises the remarkable success that has been achieved over the years in terms of physical, policy, and institutional reforms. It subsequently seeks to consolidate these achievements by ensuring the road sector keys into the government’s vision of attaining low middle-income status by 2025.
