The regulations are pursuant to the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics, and Disinfectants Act of 1972. Alcoholic beverage is defined as “any drink ordinarily consumed by humans or purporting to be suitable or manufactured or sold for human consumption with an ethyl alcohol content above 1ml per 100mI (one percent (1%) alcohol volume)”. Warnings against alcoholic beverages are highlighted in the annexure of the regulations, and it is specified that container labels must contain one of the health warnings in any of the South African official languages.

Revision of General Authorization for the Taking and Storing of Water

The authorizations do not affect the provisions of the national water act.
