Branding of Stock Act (Revised Edition 2016)

This is a parliamentary Act that makes provision for the registration of brands of stock. It emphasizes that any person requiring a brand shall deliver or transmit to the registrar an application in Form B in the First schedule to this Act accompanied by a fee of ten shillings for the registration of a brand; if no special combination is applied for, the registrar, if satisfied that such application is in conformity with this act, shall allot to such applicant in the order in which his application is received the first un-allotted brand standing in the register for the district in which the holding is situated on which the brand is to be used, and shall register the said brand to such applicant accordingly in form A in the first schedule to this act.

The medium-term Plan (2008-2012) is the first in a series of successive five-year medium-term plans which will implement the Kenya vision 2030. The medium-term plan identifies the key policy actions to implement from 2008 – 2012 to achieve the economic targets of increasing GDP growth from 7% in 2007 to an estimated 7.9-8.7% by 2009-2010 and 10% by 2012 and also to increase the investment levels at high rate to enhance economic growth and create employment.
It focuses on implementing the flagship projects of Vision 2030 in the six economic sectors: tourism, agriculture, energy, information & communications technology, business process outsourcing, education, and health.

The second medium-term Plan (MTP II) of the Kenya vision 2030 covering a period of 2013-2017 builds on the achievements of the first medium-term plan and sets to put the economy on high growth to attain the Kenya Vision 2030 targeted annual average growth rate of 10% and increase in gross investment by 10%. The second MTP termed “Transforming Kenya” is pegged on economic growth, stable micro economic environment, commercialization of agriculture, food security, job creation for unemployed youth, provision of policy and legal framework for the management of Kenya’s natural resources and partnership with County government to improve the health sector.

The third medium-term Plan (MTP III) of the Kenya vision 2030 documents the policies, legal framework, programmes and projects the government plans to implement from 2018 to 2022. The plan builds on the achievements of the first and the second plans and focuses on some key national development enablers which include: infrastructure, information and communication technology, science technology and Innovation, public sector reforms, labor and employment, ending drought and security etc. The medium-term plan III also targets to increase GDP growth rate from 5.5 % in 2013-2017 to 5.9% in 2018/2019 and later increase it by 7% annually till the end of medium-term plan III.
