Indigenous knowledge is defined as knowledge that has been developed within an indigenous community and has been assimilated into the cultural and social identity of that community; knowledge of functional nature, natural resources, and cultural expressions. The Act applies to all persons within the Republic, and all knowledge specified in the Act.

This serves as an amendment to the national environmental management: protected areas act of 2003. It makes provisions to authorise the declaration of marine protected areas and their subsequent management, and to effect textual corrections.

The notice concerns hygienic requirements for the handling, transport and storage of food. The regulations outline requirements for all points in the food handling and packaging processes. It is stated that a person may not handle food or allow food to be handled in manners contrary to specifications of these regulations. The regulations relate, among others, to abattoirs and animal slaughtering process, meat and meat products, perishable food items, prepacked foods, unprocessed crops, and ready-to-eat foods.

The statutory measure applies to cotton. It pushes to compel market players of cotton to keep records and report returns to Cotton South Africa. It sees this as a means to ensure the availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them to make informed decisions. The measure lists out the records and returns to be kept and submitted. Cotton South Africa is appointed as an administrator of the statutory measure and will provide monthly macro generic market information to the cotton industry and interested parties.

This represents a broad outline of the rules of the national council of societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals; in terms of the societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals act of 1993. The rules refer to purposes of clarification, uniformity and recognition, public funds and funding, national uniformity, standards, animal welfare and husbandry, and guidelines.

The Uthukela marine protected area contains two inshore restricted zones, two inshore controlled zones, one offshore controlled-pelagic line fish zone, three offshore controlled zones, and one offshore restricted zones; which are all determined using the World Geodetic System (WGS) of 1984. The regulations stipulate that no scientific research within the protected area shall be carried out except with a research permit issued by the Minister. It lists out the general restrictions within the protected area.

The regulations are relevant to the Disaster Management Act of 2002, and the declaration of national disaster published in the government gazette in March 2020. The regulations amend the national disaster publication; it inserts chapter-specific definitions for clarity of context. It addresses issues related to the conduct and options of COVID-19 confirmed and suspected persons, restrictions on movements of goods and persons during the lockdown, prohibition of public transport, and resources by the state during the lockdown.
