The regulations operate under the mining titles registration regulations of 1967. Provisions are made for matters relative to procedures of the registration of mining titles; powers of attorney, documentation, certified surveyor plans, mortgage bonds, fees and forms.

The notice contains statutory measures for registration, records and returns, research levy, information and transformation levy, and export levy. It pushes to compel stakeholders and role players in the wine industry to register, furnish records and returns, and pay stipulated levies with the stated relevant administrators. It sees the process as a means to ensure the availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. The norms and standards is a review of the international and national norms and standards for water and sanitation services. It seeks to address the inadvertent exclusion of rural areas in the implementation of water services and backlogs. The parts of the policy document focus on; water components of water services, sanitation and wastewater components of water services, summary of monitoring and reporting responsibilities, and a proposed plan of action for the implementation of norms and standards.

The standards specified in the schedules of the notice pushes to ensure sustainable development within the Gauteng province, compliance to management measures and the principles of the National Environmental Management Act of 1998. The provisions of the standard apply to activities excluded from acquiring an environmental authorisation when undertaken within Zone 1 or Zone 5 of the Gauteng Province.

The objectives of this policy are to facilitate poverty alleviation through the sustainable utilization of animal genetic resources within the framework of the Animal Improvement Act, 1998 (Act 62 of 1998), to promote and support the identification, evaluation, breeding and use of genetically superior animals to improve the production and performance of animals used for food, agriculture, sport and recreation. It also aims to promote the sustainable use of Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR) as a major contributor to National food security, facilitate the conservation of animal genetic resources for food and agriculture and reduce the risk of disease transmission through animal improvement.

The Act establishes a sole regulator to oversee the affairs of the electricity, piped-gas, and petroleum pipeline industries; The National Energy Regulator. The act specifies the specific functions of the body, its composition across the board, requirements for membership, meetings, duties of members, decision mechanism, funds of the body, and the accounting procedure, among others.

Pesticide use allows for an abundant supply of food items and control of public health hazards and nuisance pests. They however also cause undesirable side effects – due to their biological nature – on workers, consumers, community health and safety, ground and surface water bodies, and wildlife organisms. The policy aims to revise and re-evaluate the over 3000 pesticides products approved for use in South Africa, as enshrined in the fertilisers, farm feeds, agricultural remedies, and stock remedies act. It provides information and will serve as a guideline framework to ensure the full life-cycle of pesticides – from the production process to disposal – is positioned to minimise the adverse effects on health and the environment.

Amendment of regulations published in the marine living resources act of 1998. Regulation 51, pertaining to age limits for obtaining permits, and annexure two of the regulations are altered.

The Protea marine protected area contains one offshore controlled zone, one offshore controlled-pelagic line fish zone, and one offshore restricted zone; which are all determined using the World Geodetic System (WGS) of 1984. The regulations stipulate that no scientific research within the protected area shall be carried out except with a research permit issued by the Minister. It lists out the general restrictions within the protected area. A fish list about the controlled-pelagic line fish zone is attached in the annexures of the regulations.

This policy updates the existing strategy to take into account technological advancements in cervical cancer prevention and new evidence on screening, approaches and methods in the context of the HIV epidemic. It introduces primary prevention of cervical cancer through Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination of young girls between age 9 to 12 and promotes awareness regarding HPV prevention through safe sex practices and dual protection (barrier plus other methods of contraception). It also provides for secondary prevention by strengthening cytology screening. It also introduces new guidelines for cervical cancer screening for women living with HIV.

The amendment declares that the provisions of the plant improvement act shall apply to plants of all kinds specified in schedule B, and crosses of such plants, excluding plants for ornamental or decorative purposes; and the seed of all plants specified in schedule C, excluding plants used for ornamental or recreational purposes.

The regulations are made under the mountain catchment areas act of 1970. The regulations enshrined in the notice relates to; the constitution and composition of Fire Protection Committees; advisory committees for mountain catchment areas; financial aid application; notice to owners of the land; directions to owners of land in a mountain catchment area; and application for compensation of patrimonial loss.

The white paper on the water supply and sanitation policy pushes relevant stakeholders to fully commit to participating in the formulation process of water policies.
