An Act to make provisions for protection, promotion and preservation of the public health, safety and welfare through regulation and control of nursing and midwifery education and practice.

An Act to repeal the Factories Ordinance; to make provisions for the safety, health and welfare of persons at work in factories and other places of work- to provide for the protection of persons other than persons at work against hazards to health and safety arising out of or in connection with activities of persons at work; and to provide for connected matters

An Act to establish the Ocean Road Cancer Institute and to provide for incidental or connected matters.

An Act to make provision for the health care, social support, accessibility, rehabilitation, education and vocational training, communication, employment or work protection and promotion of basic rights for the persons with disabilities and to provide for related matters.

An Act to establish the Pharmacy Council and to provide for the functions, management of the Council; to provide for regulation and control of the pharmacy profession and practice; and other related matters.

An Act to amend the Private Hospitals (Regulation) Act, 1977, to make provision for the management of private hospitals by individuals and organisations.

An Act to make provisions for the establishment, composition and functions of the Commission for universities, the coordination and rationalization of the types and categories of universities, the promotion and financing of higher education, establishment and governance of universities, and for other related matters.

The overall objective is to ensure partnership with the civil society so that out-of-school children, youth and adults, especially girls, women, disadvantaged groups and nomads would have access to quality basic learning opportunities. The target is to improve the literacy rate by 20 per cent and reduce the backlog of out-of-school children by mainstreaming at least the 11-13 years old of the targeted groups.

This Plan focuses on the following critical issues: advocacy and sensitization, access and equity, quality enhancement, capacity enhancement and development, monitoring and evaluation, administration and coordination, financing and sustainability of the adult, non-formal and continuing education.

The broad policy objectives of education and training in Tanzania are to Enhance partnership in the provision of education and training, through the deliberate effort of encouraging private agencies to participate in the provision of education and to establish and manage schools and other educational institutions at all levels.

This MTSP is primarily aimed at availing a mechanism and basic tool for engaging and negotiating financing of education and training with key stakeholders; presenting the Government with an instrument for continuous critical evaluation of sectoral activities and priorities, strategic interventions and programme implementation; and setting a basis for resource allocation and targeting.

The Medium-Term Strategic Plan for 2012/13 – 2015/16 provides a framework upon which all education and training institutions under it will develop and design their Medium-Term Strategic Plans (MTSPs). This Medium-Term Strategic Plan is aimed at improving the provision of education and training and other services at all levels through the improvement of quality of education and training by expanding institutional frameworks and structures.

This Status Report 2006 is produced by the MKUKUTA Monitoring Master Plan (MPEE, 2006). The report provides information and analysis for the first year of implementation of MKUKUTA based upon the full revised set of national indicators.

This report is organised into seven chapters. The first chapter presents a historical review of the teaching of civics in schools and civic education. The second chapter discusses the methodology used in the preparation of this report and provides a conceptual framework for the National Strategy. The third chapter discusses the attributes of a recommended CE management body. The fourth chapter discusses alternative sources of resources for CE provision. Chapter five presents a discussion of the objectives and contents of CE curricula for different groups, and chapter six presents different CE teaching methods and teaching aids for different social groups. The report ends by presenting a timeline for the implementation of the strategy.

This Poverty and Human Development Report 2005 is the third in a series produced by the Research and Analysis Working Group of the Government of Tanzania’s Poverty Monitoring System. This monitoring system aims to provide timely, reliable information about poverty levels and trends and the results of analyses of data concerning poverty in Tanzania. This is the first report of the Research and Analysis Working Group since the start of the new National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP), which translates into “Mkakati wa Kukuza Uchumi na Kupunguza Umasikini Tanzania (MKUKUTA)”.

An Act to repeal and replace the Fisheries Act, 1970, to make provision for sustainable development, protection, conservation, aquaculture development, regulation and control of fish, fish products, aquatic flora and its products and related matters.

The major objectives of this policy are to achieve increased enrolments, equitable access, quality improvements, the expansion and optimum utilisation of facilities, and operational efficiency throughout the system.

The purpose of this review is to update the previous PRS by making it more comprehensive and pro-poor. Also, the review aims to broaden and deepen interventions to reduce poverty and raise awareness on the PRS and MDGs.

This Plan outlines the framework for achieving greater access to secondary education while simultaneously tackling equity, retention, quality and management issues. Secondary Education Development Plan also addresses the Government’s policy on decentralization of the management of the delivery of social services, including education and focuses also on capacity building for the central government to improve the execution of its core functions of policy formulation, provision of a responsive regulatory framework, quality assurance, and improved monitoring and evaluation.
