This represents the regulations laying down the procedure to be followed for the adoption of spatial tools or environmental management instruments in the sections of the national environmental management act of 1998. The minister is saddled with ensuring that the spatial tool or environmental management instrument indicates the purpose for which it was developed.

The statutory measure sets out to enforce registration of specified parties with the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI), which is tasked with implementing the measure. Parties shall have the option to register as either a producer or an exporter, or both; for parties that both produce and export. The measure hopes to create a level playing field for players and stakeholders by ensuring access to accurate and timely information to guide their decision process. The measure applies to table grapes intended for export.

The Survey Act sets out to regulate the survey of land in the Republic of South Africa. It gives powers to the minister to appoint a land surveyor as the Surveyor-General of the Republic, as well as Surveyor-General for each province or group of provinces. The powers of the appointees and their duties and responsibilities are detailed in the act.

These Regulations prohibit the importation, sale or manufacture of foodstuffs containing residues of defined chemical substances in excess of prescribed maximum limits. A sampling of pesticide residues in food shall be carried out in accordance with the latest edition of the Codex Alimentarius Standards.

The government acknowledges the position of sound nutrition as a basic human right and prerequisite for attaining full intellectual and physical potential. Nutrition is seen as the outcome of a developmental process and not services to be delivered. The roadmap highlights the manifestations of malnutrition prevalent in South Africa and possible underlying conditions. The five-year roadmap seeks to direct nutrition-related activities in the health sector to the achievement of the sector’s four focus areas: life expectancy; maternal and child mortality; HIV and AIDS and tuberculosis; and strengthened health systems.

It is stated that “no person shall export processed products from the Republic of South Africa unless quantities have been approved by the executive officer for that purpose”. The regulations give effect to the section on the carriage of dangerous goods of the safety convention. The regulations apply to every South African ship carrying irradiated nuclear fuel (INF) cargo; they do not apply to ships owned or operated by the government of another state.

The Act gives effect to the international convention for safe containers. The act binds the state and every organ of the state. It extends transport to the Prince Edward Islands. It declares contracting states, makes provisions of the convention have a force of law, specifies appointment of inspectors, and powers and functions.
